Old Faithful and the surrounding smaller Gysers

We went with Brooks's family over Memorial weekend to Yellowstone. We have always enjoyed this trip as a family and this time was not any different. Braxy did awesome on his first road trip. We bought him a new car seat before we left so he would sit up higher and be able to see out better as well. We hooked up the dvd player and he was a happy camper. We left Thursday night and went through the park Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Friday we happened upon a Grizzly bear that was literally 100 yards from the road. We were able to get out and get some great pics. The rangers said it was a young cub and that it was injured and not doing well. They think the mother was killed and the cub was able to get away but did have a huge gash on its head and a broken jaw. It had been laying down for a few days and when we got there it started to get up and eat. You would never be able to get that close to an uninjured bear. We saw many buffalo of course, elk, a moose and antelope. Black bear cubs and wolves. On Monday we headed home and went to Big Springs to see the fish and then made our usual stop at Bear world. We saw lots of bears and cubs. Braxy even got to pet a deer in the petting zoo. It was a wonderful trip and we always have a blast telling jokes on the walkie talkies. I am so lucky to be part of such a great family!
