Christmas night and morning

This year like many of the past years we spent the night at My moms house. It was definitely a full house but we had a great time. After we got home from the party mom handed out our pjs to us all and we changed. Aub and Ki and I wrapped presents and i hurried and made Brooks's John Deer blanket that I have not had time to start or finish! Scott and Brooks went downstairs and put the babies Saucers from Santa together. We finally all turned in at about 1:30. Then we woke up Christmas morning at about 8 we fed the babies and got started opening presents. it was so much fun to watch Kiaya open her stuff and go through her stocking. It is only going to get funner and funner each year as the babies get older. We were all done doing presents and mom went upstairs and came back down with an Elmo Live doll. He was so cute and the babies just watched and watched him as he told stories and fell over and told jokes. They will love going to Grandmas to play with elmo. Then we had breakfast cooked by Scott it was Yummy and we got cleaned up and went to visit Grandma Lucy. We came home and Brooks and Braxy had a nap and we got ready to go to the Beatties. We had dinner and opened gifts and visited over there for a while and came home. It was a wonderful Christmas but came and went way too fast. I cant believe it is time to take down the tree and start making those new Years resolutions.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas eve we had our traditional Norwegian Christmas party. We had lots of yummy Norwegian food such as Korv (sausage) Pork, Cabbage and other yummy things. Then for dessert we always have RiceCream with Danish Dessert on it and if you are lucky you get the one with the almond and win a Marzipan Pig and Guess What I got one of the almonds this year!!! Then after we eat we go downstairs to dance around the Christmas tree and wait for the Ulenessen to come (The Norwegian Santa) He hands out presents to all of the unmarried kids and takes pictures. This a such a fun night that we all look forward too every year it was especially fun this year with our little boy. Yes we dressed him like Santa and Macie had to have a Santa dress. When we were taking their pics braxton kept turning his head to what it looked like kiss macie. It was very cute.

Christmas Tradition # (i dont know what number we are on!)

About 4 years ago Steves family decided to stop exchanging gifts and start doing an act of service or give to someone in need or that needed a pick me up. So my aunt came up with the 12 days of Christmas basket idea. Each family is given one day of the 12 days of christmas, then we buy what we want for our one day but we buy enough of them for each person in our family to help understand cause it is confusing to explain say i have the 12th day of christmas i find what i want to do for the 12th day of christmas but i buy enough for each little family within my family. Then the night that we do gingerbread houses we divide everything up so you have the 12 days of christmas. Confusing to explain but it works. Then we get to choose who we want to do the 12 days of christmas too we can deliver the gifts one day at a time or put them all in a basket and give at once. It is fun to see all the fun creative things that we all come up with then on Christmas eve we all go around the table and tell who we gave our basket too and our experience we are all usually shedding tears when we do so. Yes Meg and Brad it was us!!! Here is a pic of this years basket all put together.

Kemp Family Party

On Sunday we got together with my moms side of the family and had a Christmas Party at my grandmas care center. It is always fun to get together as a family and catch up and talk about the good ol days! My mom is that last child of four living and she does a great job of reuniting us every year. We know that although Uncle Jimmy, Larry, and Phillip are not with us physically they are with us in spirit they were all three such great guys! Ok enough sappiness (is that a word?) onto the pics.
