Happy Pretend New Years!

We were lucky enough to get to see the Flowers again this month. They came to town for Christmas and Monday Night we had a Mock New years eve Celebration. It was so fun. We had a Potato bar and cheese fondue and a Chocolate fountain. We played a few games of bowling on the WII and check our our fitness age! It was so fun to all be together again! Braxy really took to Brice and would not leave him alone all night it was cute~

Christmas Day

We spent the night at our own home on Christmas eve. First time in 30 years I have not slept at my moms! We decided Braxy needed a good nights sleep cause he would have a busy day ahead. We woke up around 730 and got Brax up. Santa showed up sometime through the night and brought Braxy a Chuck the Talking Truck and many other fun cars and toys! He was really cute he would walk to something and get excited then walk to something else and get excited. I think he kind of understood what was going on!

After we finished our own little Christmas we headed out to moms house. We ate a yummy breakfast then low and behold santa showed up there too. The kids got spoiled with cute clothes, a fun chair to watch tv in, Tag Jr reading system, more trucks and cars, and Braxys favorite toy of the day his vacume. He would not let that thing go for anything.

Aubrey and I made a frame for Macie to give scotty that says "Daddy, A daughters first love" It turned out so cute Scott does not cry often and this brought tears to his eyes.

My mom gave us girls all cute purses with scarves and hats and perfume in them. Arent we cute!

After we were dont at my moms we ran home loaded back up and headed to the Beatties for the evening. We had a yummy dinner and opened presents. Brax got more fun toys and we got a bag full of goodies and a cute comforter set for our bed. The camera was dead so I was unable to get pics. It was such a fun Christmas and I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family!
Oh Oh and the best present was the WII Dad and Linda sent us. We have had so much fun playing it and are getting so sleep deprived because of it! Thanks Dad and Linda!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we had our annual Norweigian dinner and festivities with the Folkerson Family. The food was yummy and we all had fun playing with the kids and visiting.

After dinner we had a visit from the Norwegian Santa Clause who brought the kids presents!

Ginger Bread Houses with the Folkersons

The Sunday before Grandma passed away we got together with my family for our annual Gingerbread house tradition. We had a great time and of course yummy food. Our house was pretty plain this year I think it is because I was worn out from doing it with the Beatties the night before. But none the less a good time was had by all!

Catching Up

The last few weeks have been busy ones. My house has been neglected as well as my blog. Two weeks ago my sweet Grandma Lucy Peacefully returned home to her Husband and 3 sons for Christmas. This was somewhat of a shock cause she was doing pretty well. On Monday she started getting sick and throwing up then gradually got worse. Wednesday night I went to the care center with my mom to spend a few hours with her. Grandma could not talk but would interact with us by shaking her head yes and no to our questions and when I mentioned Braxton she would get a smile on her face. On thursday mom got a call saying she was not doing well and did not think she would make it through the day So I dropped Brax off and headed back out to the care center with my mom. Mom and I were able to spend some quiet time with her listening to music and holding her hand. My brother came over in the afternoon to be with us as well. Gradually as the evening went on all the Grandkids started filling in and Grandma passed away at 9:00 with all of her grandkids and great grandkids around her bed. I will miss her so much but know that she lived a wonderful life and it was her time to go.

Ginger Bread houses with the Beatties

Tonight we made authentic home baked gingerbread houses with Brooks's family. Brooks and I get to do this evey year with my family and we decided to add the tradition to the Beattie side as well. This is the first year we have done this as a family and it was a lot of fun. I think a few of the family memebers thought the kids may not enjoy it or may hurry through it and the kids loved it. After we assembled the houses we decided to do our gift exchange with the kids. We had decided to do a $2 gift exchange with the cousins since they get so much stuff for Chritmas we thought this would be a fun thing to do. However pausing in between we did loose a few of our house builders but none the less we got them done. We had no catastrophies all the roofs stayed on and they all turned out! It was so much fun and I can not wait until we do it again next year.
